Friends & hearts without LINE (Apple sign-in)

Intl FAQ: can you add friends or trade hearts with Sign in with Apple or Guest? What the official help says, and what players report.

Short answer: On the International app you can play without a LINE account by using Sign in with Apple (iPhone/iPad only) or Guest Login. But the in-game friend list comes from LINE, so the official help gives you no other way to add friends or trade hearts. Without LINE, your hearts come from the 15-minute refill and from Rubies.

This page covers the International (English/Chinese) app only. The Japanese app has its own help pages, and we haven't used them here.

What the official help says

We read the questions on the official LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum help center (International) and the official notice about Facebook Login. Here's what they actually say, in our own words:

Question Official answer Source
Can I play without LINE? Yes, with Sign in with Apple or Guest Login. Both are "limited": some in-game features can't be used Help center
What exactly can Guest Login players not do? They can't play with their LINE friends, and other features may be missing too Help center (+ Fandom's FAQ says the same)
What exactly can Apple sign-in players not do? Not listed. The help center only says "some features" Help center
Where does the in-game friend list come from? The game uses your LINE ID, profile and LINE friend info to find your LINE friends in the game Help center
What about Facebook friends? Facebook Login was removed. Rankings and sending Hearts to Facebook friends went with it, and Facebook-only accounts became guest accounts Official notice
Who can use Sign in with Apple? iOS players only Help center

What we take from this: the help center never says Apple sign-in players can add friends, and it never gives an in-game friend code or any other route. The only friend source it describes is LINE. So we can't call "no friends with Apple-only" an official rule, because the help center doesn't list the Apple limits one by one. But we also found no official way to add friends without LINE.

How hearts work (official)

These rules come from the same help center. They're the reason friends matter:

  • 1 heart refills every 15 minutes on its own
  • You can get more hearts from friends, or swap Rubies for hearts with the "+" next to your heart counter
  • You can send a heart to the same friend once an hour at most
  • Hearts in your Mail Box are kept for 30 days
  • Inviting a friend gives 500 coins, up to 1,000 friends

So without LINE friends you're left with the 15-minute refill and Ruby swaps. That's about 4 games an hour, or 96 a day if you check in all day. Friends can push that much higher. On the International app, hearts from friends can also come with bonus coins. See Hearts & 200 coins|Intl basics for how that works.

What players report (unconfirmed)

These come from players on r/TsumTsum. They aren't official rules. They're single accounts that we couldn't check.

  • "Apple sign-in got my account back, but adding friends asks for LINE" (thread, late Oct 2026). One player's old LINE login stopped working. Sign in with Apple brought the old game data back. When they tried to add friends, the game asked them to log in to LINE. Then it said that LINE account "already has game data." LINE support sent back a form reply. This fits the official rules (friends come from LINE, and an ID that already has data keeps that data; see below). But it's still one player's story.
  • "LINE doesn't support US numbers anymore" (reply in the same thread). We couldn't confirm this anywhere official. Treat it as a rumor.
  • Hoping for an in-game friend code (same thread). That's a player wish. The game doesn't have one, and nothing official says one is coming.
  • A returning player on Guest asking how to get hearts (thread, mid-Oct 2026). Replies say a new LINE account signs up with a phone number in some regions and with a Google or Apple account elsewhere. Unconfirmed, because LINE's signup options change by country. One reply also suggests creating a LINE account with someone else's Google account. We don't recommend that: the account wouldn't really be yours, and you could lose it along with your game data.

Before you link LINE or Apple: the data warning

This part is official, and it's where players get burned:

  • If you started as a Guest and then link a LINE, Facebook or Apple ID that has no Tsum Tsum data, your guest data moves over.
  • If that ID already has Tsum Tsum data, the existing data is what you keep, not your guest progress.
  • After you play on a LINE or Apple login, you can't go back to old guest data.
  • Guest data can be lost if you uninstall the app (or for other reasons). The help center recommends linking an account.
  • With Apple sign-in, paid currency carries over to a new device only once, iOS to iOS.

The Reddit player above ran into the second rule: the LINE account they used for friends was tied to other game data.

So what should you do? (our take)

  • You want friends and traded hearts: you need LINE. Use a LINE account you control, and check whether it already has Tsum Tsum data before you link it, or you may land on that old save instead.
  • You can't or won't use LINE: on iPhone, use Sign in with Apple rather than Guest so your progress survives a reinstall or a new phone. Expect to play on the free 15-minute refills.
  • You're stuck between two saves: don't keep re-linking accounts to experiment. Contact support through the in-game Inquiries page and describe both logins.
