Scheming Gaston Tsum Tsum skill guide (Intl)
Intl October Tsum Scheming Gaston: how the swipe-a-line skill works, skill durations, which Villains Halloween missions he fits, and how to read coin claims.
Scheming Gaston is the other new October Tsum on the International app, alongside Disney Villains (Set). He’s a Limited Time Event Tsum tied to the Villains Halloween event (Fandom). His skill is unusual: instead of clearing a fixed shape, it gives you a few seconds where you swipe the screen and he clears a line wherever you drag.
The short version:
- The skill is a timer. While it runs, each swipe clears a line of Tsums
- Where and how you swipe matters. The in-game tip says swiping lets you adjust the direction and length of the line, and Fandom adds that the line is anchored at the bottom middle of the board
- A higher skill level only makes the timer longer. It goes from 1.8 s at Skill 1 to 5.3 s at Skill 6, and the activation cost stays at 16 Tsums
- The coin numbers below come from single test videos. They show what each player got, not what you should expect
Watch: Skill 1 to 6 on the International app
If the video doesn’t load: Scheming Gaston Skill Test Show, Skill 1 to 6 (RelaxZone) (about 6.5 minutes)
The video runs three skill levels side by side on a Traditional Chinese International client, first Skills 1–3, then 4–6. It has no narration, so here’s what to watch for:
- The skill-up cards between rounds. Each one shows the in-game skill duration for that level
- The “Tsum info” tip shown at Skill 4: “swiping lets you adjust the direction and length of the line”
- How many swipes fit into one activation. At Skill 1 the window is short enough that you only get a quick stroke or two. By Skill 6 you have time to aim at clusters, and that’s where the coin jump comes from
How the skill works
| Point | Details | Checked by |
|---|---|---|
| Skill text | “Swipe the screen to clear Tsums in a line!” | Both (Fandom text and the in-game description in the video) |
| You choose the line | Swiping adjusts the line’s direction and length | Both (in-game tip in the video; Fandom’s strategy notes) |
| Where the line ends | Fandom: lines always end at the bottom middle, even though the animation looks like it travels upward. Starting your swipe mid-screen gives a line from the middle rather than from the top | Fandom only |
| Suggested swipe | Fandom: start your swipe at the top and drag toward the bottom, and keep chaining during the skill | Fandom only |
Skill levels
| Skill | Duration | Tsums to activate | Tsums for this level |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1.8 s | 16 | 1 |
| 2 | 2.5 s | 16 | 1 |
| 3 | 3.2 s | 16 | 2 |
| 4 | 3.9 s | 16 | 4 |
| 5 | 4.6 s | 16 | 8 |
| 6 | 5.3 s | 16 | 16 |
- Durations for Skills 2–6 match between Fandom and the in-game skill-up cards in the video.
- The Skill 1 value (1.8 s), the activation cost, and the per-level counts are from Fandom. RelaxZone’s on-screen chart shows the same numbers, but it may be based on Fandom, so we don’t count it as a separate check.
- By Fandom’s count, maxing him takes 32 copies in total.
Coin numbers: single test runs
These are the coins from single plays in RelaxZone’s skill test video, read off the result screens. The video doesn’t say which items were used, and the Tsum level is low (shown as Lv 2–8 during the runs), so treat this as a rough trend, not a benchmark.
| Skill | Score | Coins |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4,090,877 | 1,643 |
| 2 | 6,559,302 | 2,260 |
| 3 | 8,996,293 | 2,440 |
| 4 | 11,140,845 | 3,467 |
| 5 | 18,670,929 | 4,203 |
| 6 | (not clearly shown) | 4,926 |
What this suggests: coins climb steadily with the timer, and Skills 4–6 look like where he becomes a reasonable coin Tsum. That’s one player, one run per level, so your results with different items, Tsum level, and swipe accuracy can differ a lot.
A second run: one SL6 game (added Oct 23)
If the video doesn't load: Scheming Gaston (SL6, 5K coins) (Michelle's Tsum Tsum Video) (about 3 minutes, posted Oct 19)
This is a full SL6 game on the International app (English game screens, Traditional Chinese Tsum card, tagged 海外版). It's one game by one player:
| Point | What the video shows |
|---|---|
| Tsum | Level 5, Skill 6/6. The card shows a 5.3 s skill time, the same Skill 6 value as in the table above |
| Result | 5,564 coins, 25,480,104 points |
| Items | Not stated |
Next to RelaxZone's Skill 6 run (4,926 coins) it's the same ballpark, but the items and Tsum levels differ, so don't read the gap as meaningful. The video's own rating is "Not ideal for coins."
About gyro on/off: this video's on-screen tips suggest turning gyro on, tilting the phone left or right, and swiping in that direction. They also say the line clears based on your swipe direction, and that you can fire the skill before the Tsums have finished falling. This is the only International source we've found on gyro, so it's unconfirmed. The gyro comparison video we found earlier was recorded on the Japanese app, so we still leave that one out.
Where he helps in Villains Halloween
According to Fandom’s trait tags, Scheming Gaston is a male Tsum with eyebrows, a mouth, a tuft (“fluffy”) of hair, round ears, a ribbon, tied hair, and yellow hands. He’s also black, a Villain, a burst-skill Tsum, and a Premium Box Tsum. Lined up against the Cards 1–2 missions, that covers a lot:
| Card | Missions he can count for (per Fandom tags) |
|---|---|
| 1 | 300 Tsums with a premium Tsum; male Tsum 900,000 points; 20 combo with a Tsum with eyebrows |
| 2 | Fever ×3 with a Tsum with a mouth; chain of 7+ with fluffy hair; 600 Exp. with a black Tsum; skill ×12 with a round-eared Tsum; 70 MyTsums with a burst Tsum |
As a new October Tsum he should also get the event’s Character Bonus (Fandom rule). The trait tags themselves come only from Fandom, so tap the mission in-game to confirm he qualifies before you spend items.
Tips (our suggestions)
These are our own suggestions, not from either source.
- Practice the swipe before you farm. Most of this Tsum’s value comes from aiming each line at a cluster. A few plays without items are a cheap way to get the feel.
- Card 2 is his best stage. He fits five of its trait missions, so saving him for Card 2 is a good use of his Character Bonus.
- Don’t compare him to the Set on coins alone. The separate test videos in our Villains Set guide show higher coin numbers for the Set, though under different conditions. Gaston’s appeal is how many missions he covers with one Tsum.
