Tsum Tsum Intl items, bubbles and Fever

What each pre-game item (+Score, +Coin, +Exp, +Time, +Bubble, 5>4) does on the International app, when it's worth buying, and how bubbles and Fever work.

Before every game you can switch on items (boosters) that change how that one game plays. New players usually either buy all of them every game and run out of coins, or never touch them and get stuck on missions. This guide covers what each item does on the International app, when it's worth paying for, and the two in-game systems the items lean on: bubbles and Fever.

Sources are the Disney Tsum Tsum Fandom wiki and Tsum Tsum Central. Tsum Tsum Central's guide is old and hasn't been kept up to date, so we only call something confirmed when Fandom says the same thing.

Short version:

  • When you're new, skip most items. Both sources say they're mostly not worth it until you have stronger Tsums
  • +Bubble and 5>4 are the ones that help with missions. +Coin is the one coin farmers use later
  • Connecting 7 or more Tsums makes a bubble (6 with +Bubble). Tapping a bubble clears the Tsums around it
  • Fever starts after you clear enough Tsums. Clears are worth more points during Fever, and your combo can't break

What each item does

Item Effect Price (Fandom) Status
+Score +10% to your end-of-game score 500 coins Effect confirmed. Price unconfirmed
+Coin Random bonus to the coins you earn 500 coins Effect confirmed. The multipliers don't match, see below
+Exp +10% to the experience you earn 500 coins Effect confirmed. Price unconfirmed
+Time +5 seconds on the game timer 1,000 coins Effect confirmed. Price unconfirmed
+Bubble A bubble appears at 6 Tsums instead of 7 1,500 coins Effect confirmed. Price unconfirmed
5>4 Only 4 Tsum types on the board instead of 5 1,800 coins Effect confirmed. Price unconfirmed
+Combo Your combo won't break 1,200 coins Unconfirmed (Fandom only)

"Confirmed" means Fandom and Tsum Tsum Central agree. Prices are from Fandom only, so they're unconfirmed; check the item screen in your own game. Fandom also says items can be paid for with Item Tickets, that sales sometimes cut item prices, and that the +Coin item is never on sale. All three are Fandom only.

Items only last for the one game you switch them on for. You pay again next game.

The +Coin item: two different claims

The two sources disagree on how big the +Coin bonus can get, so here they are side by side:

Source What it says
Fandom (Items page) Random. Confirmed values: +10%, +30%, +50%, 2x, 5x, 10x, 20x and 50x
Tsum Tsum Central (older page) Random. The writer saw between +50% and +300%

Both say the bonus is random. The range doesn't match, so treat any specific multiplier as unconfirmed. Big multipliers like 20x or 50x are on Fandom's list only. In practice, think of +Coin as "usually a small boost, sometimes a big one", not something you can plan around.

Is it worth buying items?

Both sources give the same advice. Items are mostly a waste of coins for beginners. They pay off once your Tsums (and their skills) are stronger. Our take, based on that:

  1. Just starting out: play without items. Save coins for the Premium Box, which gets you more Tsums and higher skills. See Intl beginner: first 30 days
  2. Stuck on a mission: use the item that matches it. +Bubble for "make X bubbles" or bubble-type missions, 5>4 for long chains (fewer types means your Tsums connect more easily), +Time for "in one game" totals. Fandom's Strategy page also suggests saving Item Tickets for missions (Fandom only)
  3. Farming coins with a strong Tsum: this is where +Coin, and sometimes 5>4, start to earn back what they cost. Which Tsums are worth it is covered in Best coin Tsums on Intl

The +Score and +Exp items only add 10%. For most players they're the last ones worth buying.

Bubbles

Confirmed by both sources:

  • Connect 7 or more of the same Tsum in one chain and you get a bubble (Magic Bubble). Sometimes you get a bigger Tsum instead
  • With +Bubble, the number drops to 6
  • Tap a bubble to clear the Tsums around it
  • There are several types of bubble with extra effects

Fandom only (unconfirmed). Fandom lists the bubble types, and its odds by chain length are its own estimate, not official numbers:

Bubble Extra effect Chain length where it can appear (Fandom)
Normal None 7–13
Time +2 seconds 9–16
Exp (star) +10 Exp 11–18
Coin +10 coins 13–20
Score Bubble score x2 15 and up (always at 21+, per Fandom)

What that means for you: a longer chain gives a better bubble. If a mission asks for a coin or score bubble, aim for long chains. 5>4 helps here too.

Tsum Tsum Central also notes that when time runs out, any bubbles left on the board are popped for you as the Last Bonus. Fandom doesn't mention this, so it's unconfirmed.

On the Japanese app, bubbles are called "bombs" (Fandom).

Fever

Confirmed by both sources:

  • Fever starts after you've cleared a certain number of Tsums
  • Clears are worth more points during Fever
  • Your combo can't break during Fever. That's why Fever matters so much for combo missions

Single-source details (unconfirmed):

  • How many Tsums it takes: Fandom says 29, and the Fever meter goes down if you wait too long (Fandom only)
  • How long it lasts: Tsum Tsum Central says 10 seconds (TTC only, and the page is old)
  • Bonus time: Fandom says starting a Fever adds 5 seconds to the clock (Fandom only)

Fandom's Strategy page has a common Fever routine for coin and combo runs. While you're in Fever, clear other Tsums and keep your skill charged. Use your skill just after Fever ends to get back in quickly. The exception is a Tsum whose skill starts Fever: Fandom says to fire that one during Fever. This is one site's strategy, not a rule, but it's a good place to start if you keep dropping out of Fever.

Summary

  • Items last one game. +Score/+Exp +10%, +Time +5 s, +Bubble 6 instead of 7, 5>4 four types (confirmed)
  • +Coin is random; Fandom (up to 50x) and Tsum Tsum Central (50–300%) disagree on the range
  • Prices, +Combo, bubble chain ranges and the 10-second Fever are unconfirmed
  • Beginners: mostly skip items, and use +Bubble or 5>4 for missions you're stuck on
