Tsum Tsum Intl beginner: first 30 days

A week-by-week plan for new International players: hearts and the 200-coin window, where coins come from, what to save for, and when to chase a high-score Tsum.

New to the International app and not sure what to do after the tutorial? This is a 30-day plan, not a list of every feature. The idea is simple: build a coin habit first, then spend those coins on one Tsum you'll actually use.

International only. JP calendars and JP events don't apply to this app.

The short version

When Focus Why
Days 1–7 Hearts, friends, the 200-coin window Free coins every day you check mail
Days 8–14 Play every event card you can Events and Bingo hand out coins and tickets
Days 15–21 Pick one coin Tsum and level it Fewer, stronger Tsums beat a wide, weak box
Days 22–30 Save for one permanent high-score Tsum Something you can buy any time, not a 3-day banner

Days 1–7: hearts are your coin faucet

Fandom's Hearts page covers the basics. The EN guide site Tsum Tsum Life confirms the 200-coin window and the one-by-one return heart, and Bahamut's International board shows heart groups built around these rules:

  • Each game costs one heart. You get one back every 15 minutes, unless you already have 5 or more
  • Sending a heart doesn't cost you a heart, and you can send each friend one per hour
  • Opening a heart within 1 hour of receiving it gives 200 coins. After that you just get the heart
  • Opening one at a time sends a heart back; Claim All does not

So the first job is getting active friends. That can be people you know or a heart-exchange group (Bahamut keeps a long thread of them). Group rules are set by players, not the game, so read them before joining.

Days 8–14: don't skip events

Fandom's International Events list shows something running almost every week: sticker books, Plaza point battles, story events, score challenges. Events and Bingo are the main non-gameplay source of coins and items (per Fandom's Coins page).

Our take: as a beginner, don't worry about clearing everything. Do the cards your Tsums can manage, then move on. Exact rewards change each event, so check the in-game event screen rather than an old wiki table.

Days 15–21: one coin Tsum, levelled

Fandom's Coins page explains why a strong skill matters: longer chains and bigger skill clears earn more coins, and the gap grows fast past a 10-chain. Unconfirmed: we haven't found a second International source for this coin scaling yet, so treat the exact curve as Fandom's figures. A Tsum that clears lots at once earns more than a bigger collection of Tsums at skill level 1.

  • If you have Gadget, she's a long-standing beginner pick. Fandom lists her as a reward Tsum rather than a box pull. How you unlock her on the current International app is unconfirmed with a second source, so check the in-game missions screen
  • Otherwise, use whichever Tsum in your box clears the most with its skill, and pull duplicates to level it

Days 22–30: save for one permanent high scorer

Limited Tsums come and go in a few days. Since June 30, 2020 the International Premium Box no longer rotates (per Fandom and the Global news blog 40/50), so permanent Tsums are always available. Saving for one of those means no deadline pressure.

We compared five (Maleficent, Jessie, Lightning McQueen, Rapunzel, Pete) here: Tsum Tsum Intl permanent Tsums for high scores

Exact Premium Box prices and pull rates aren't covered here. Check the in-game box screen, since those can change and we don't have two sources that agree.

What we didn't include

  • Daily coin totals: depends on friends and play time, so we don't give a number
  • "Best beginner Tsum" rankings: these move with every new release, and most rankings we found came from one site
  • JP tips: JP events and calendars run on a different schedule

If something here doesn't match your game, the in-game notice wins.
