New Tsum day-one｜Dr. Finkelstein notes

Note: This article covers the Japanese version of Tsum Tsum. The International version runs on a different schedule, so these dates and Tsums may not apply to your game.

Around 17:00 on Sep 30, an official YouTube short put a real name on October’s new Tsum: Dr. Finkelstein from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Month-start shorts usually show several faces; this one showed only one—that’s the day-one angle.

Why “only one” matters

Guides note that month-open shorts usually introduce the whole first batch. This time only the Doctor appeared. Reasonable reads:

Oct 1 really is a single drop, with later waves on other days
A surprise set (or more) at 00:00—hoped for in comments, not officially confirmed

So “spend everything on day one” is riskier than parking coins against the UP clock (~through 10/4 10:59) and splitting pulls.
